Chargrill (ABN 33 636 884 770), its franchisees and affiliates in Australia are committed to managing personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and in accordance with other applicable privacy laws.

This document sets out our policies for managing your personal information and is referred to as our Privacy Policy.

In this Privacy Policy, “we” and “us” refers to Chargrill (ABN 33 636 884 770) and its franchisees and “you” refers to any individual about whom we collect personal information.

By visiting our websites or any third-party food ordering application or platform (including by using an application on a smart device), placing an order with any of our stores (including franchise stores), signing up for our loyalty program ‘Chargrill VIP’ or providing us with your personal information, you agree to your personal information being collected, held, used and disclosed as set out in this policy.

References to ‘website’ include the following: https://www.chargrill.com.au or any other site, services (including web-services), software, application or media managed by Chargrill.

If you do not agree with the practices described in this Privacy Policy please do not provide us with your personal information or interact with our websites.

Opting in or out

At the point we collect information from you, you may be asked to “opt in” to consent to us using or disclosing your personal information. What information does Chargrill collect from you?

Prospective employees or applicants

We may also collect personal information from third parties in ways which you would expect (for example, from recruitment agencies or referees you have nominated). Before offering you a position, we may collect additional details such as your tax file number and superannuation information and other information necessary to conduct background checks to determine your suitability for certain positions.

  • assessing you for a position with us or one of our related entities
  • assessing whether you are suitable to progress to each stage of the recruitment process for a vacant position

Chargrill may collect personal information about other individuals who are not clients or customers of Chargrill. This includes members of the public who participate in events we are involved with, individual service providers and contractors to Chargrill and other individuals who interact with Chargrill on a commercial basis. If you are participating in an event we are managing or delivering, we may take images or audio-visual recordings which identify you.

In limited circumstances, we may collect information which is considered sensitive information. For example, if you are injured at an event promoted or delivered by us. we may collect health information about you in an emergency or otherwise with your consent.

We may collect personal information about children (for example, when children participate in events we are involved with). Franchise Applications

We will collect information from franchise applicants that is similar to that included on the Chargrill Franchise Application Form such as your name, postal address, telephone number, email address, education details, residency status, employment history, financial capacity and other information relating to your qualifications and experience.

We may also obtain personal information about you from third parties such as previous employers or nominated referees. With your consent, we may also collect sensitive information about you such as information about any criminal record you may have or your membership of any professional or trade association.

We collect personal information for any one or more of the following purposes:

  • assessing your application to become a franchisee of Chargrill
  • assessing whether you are suitable to progress to each stage of Chargrill franchise recruitment process
  • storing your information for future franchise opportunities with Chargrill

If you do not provide us with the information we request, we will be unable to do one or more of the above.

Cookies

Like many other websites, we use cookies. We use them to help you personalise your online experience.

How does Chargrill hold and dispose of my information?
